Currently I am working on a quick little time line for a story that I'm working on... So I will probably start making actual chapters soon. Probably one of the things I'm worst at is naming chapters. Luckily, when I draw out all of the crap that happens in a nutshell, it is strangely simple to me... So no need to worry about that. A better thing to worry about is me not being too busy...
Currently the beta name is "The Ordeal of the Chao", but I'm looking for something a bit better. I would ask for some opinions based on the story, but I don't want to give anything away. So when we get deeper into the plot, I will be asking for your opinions on that...
The Clash
~Chapter 1~
The forest is where even the best navigators can get lost. Everyone can get lost in a jungle. This time, it was small "chao" named Quartz. Chao were cute little anarchist creatures that all got along. There was very little fighting where they all resided, so they didn't need any form of government. Chao came in different types, depending on how they were raised. Whether they were raised to cause slight mischief, to be a perfect little angel, or even just taught to be neutral all effected the creatures.
Quartz was raised to be one of those "angels". He still taught himself some self-defense, even though it was thought to be useless. Why wasn't he in this kingdom now? It was all burnt down. Thousands had died. Quartz was one of the few survivors. He looked back, tears blinding him. He had run so far, yet the smoke was still in clear sight. And he knew, however far he went, he would still see the remains of the place. The sky was grey with smoke.
He kept walking, knowing it was pointless. He didn't even care if he went on or not now. Quartz knew he would starve to death, or be eternally lost. The Chao "Garden", as they call it, was in the middle of a gigantic forest, which was one of the many reasons no chao had actually escaped the place before.
The forest was known as Cloakwood, and for a good reason. Just like a cloak, it encased everything. Quartz, still crying, trudged on pointlessly. He didn't remember much. All he knew was that the whole thing was a catastrophe, and he had narrowly escaped. It all happened too fast.
Suddenly, he heard shuffling in the many bushes that surrounded him. He halted immediately, looking frightened. What could possibly be in this forest? Quartz did not know. He had never been outside of the Chao Garden before, and no one had survived the forest to come back and tell tales of what exactly was inside. Something was after him though, and he knew that. Then he believed that it was possibly one of the chao who had destroyed the Chao Garden who was after him.
Quartz was scared. He didn't know what to do. Sure, he knew self-defense, but the "ninjas" were a lot tougher. Suddenly, whatever it was jumped out of the bushes. In a split second the figure was up to his face, a knife in-hand. Just before the swipe came, a streak of red came from Quartz' right and clashed with the figure. Although he was not cut in any way, he was bumped on the head incredibly hard. His eyes began to close. He struggled to retain consciousness, but alas, he fell into a deep sleep.
