So, here you are at the thread where you can make up your mind which class you want to be. If you do not like any of these, you may give us a suggestion in the Feedback board. We'll decide whether we like the idea or not. Nonetheless we appreciate your support!
Fighter Basic character. Can fight well, even fairly well with their fists. Can't cast spells, use scrolls, or use wands.
Usable Weapons Every weapon unless stated otherwise.
Mage Fairly weak at attacking, but can use spells, scrolls, AND wands. Can't wear armor heavier than twenty-five pounds, otherwise they won't be able to use their spells quite right. They also can use special Mage Robes, unlike everyone else. Mages cannot use many weapons.
Usable Weapons Daggers, Staves, Short Swords, Slings, Slingshots, Darts, Throwing Daggers, Shuriken, Kunai. NO SHIELDS.
Thief Thieves are okay at attacking. They can't wear beyond leather armor, lest they make too much noise. Thieves CANNOT use really big weapons such as a two-handed sword. They are masters in stealth, stealing, picking locks, and even finding and setting traps.
Usable Weapons Anything a mage can, plus Long Swords, Scimitars, Machettes, Katanas, Short Bows, Crossbows, and Bucklers.
Cleric Clerics are nearly as good as fighters at attacking normally, but they also have the ability to cast special "Priest Spells". Note that they cannot use Mage spells. They can use certain wands, but not all. Same with scrolls. They can use any armor the fighter would. One of the worst disadvantages to clerics is that they cannot use bladed weapons, such as spears and swords. Clerics also have the ability to repel undead.
Usable Weapons Everything except bladed weapons, not including weapons with small spikes.
Druid Druids are good at fighting, but they can't use armor beyond the weight of 25 pounds. They cannot use any sword except machettes and scimitars. They can cast Druidic Spells, but not Mage spells. They can use SOME Priest Spells, but those will be specially marked with the "Cleric/Druid" text. If it only says Cleric, then no, they cannot use it.
Usable Weapons Anything a mage can use, plus scimitars, machettes, and bucklers.
Bard Bards are an interesting class. They can use Mage Spells, Wands, and Scrolls. They can use any weapon, but they cannot use any armor beyond the power of Chainmail. That is, they cannot wear Splint, Plate, or Full Plate. They can also steal. The Bard is a very powerful class.
Usable Weapons Everything unless stated otherwise, and only up to chainmail.
Monk Monks are another interesting class. They cannot use any weapon except their fists and their feet... Or anything else on their body, such as knees and elbows to their palms. They are very powerful at this however. They cannot use any armor except special monkish robes. Monks also have lots of special items made just for them, so that keeps their suckiness at a minimum.
Usable Weapons LOL NOTHING.
Off-Shoots:
Paladin Paladins are like fighters except that they must be pure of heart. They can cast Slow Poison (cures poison), Lay On Hands (weak healing spell) and Detect Evil once per day. They can also repel undead as a Cleric might. Only problem with them is that they must also be incredibly brave, and as such can get themselves into terrible situations, sometimes leading to their death.
Usable Weapons See "fighter".
Ranger Rangers are like fighters except that they can cast Priest Spells, and they can be stealthy as a thief might.
Usable Weapons See "fighter".
Assassin Assassins are like thieves except that they can put poison on their blades (lasts until he/she stabs someone), and that they must be evil. That is all.
Usable Weapons See "thief".
